RF-toolbox splitter-8

The Splitter-8 RF-toolbox is an antenna splitter with  indispensable extras when it comes to stable and interference-free reception of radio signals from wireless microphones. The Splitter-8 is an addition to existing wireless receiver systems and can therefore be used as an extension to receivers of all well-known brands.

Amplify, attenuate, The Splitter-8 has two inputs and two times eight BNC outputs. In that sense, it acts as a regular antenna splitter. However, the input card has functions with which the radio signal can be optimized. Essential in that process are the gain controls and the auto gain option. This allows the signal from the antennas to be both attenuated and amplified. attenuated to prevent intermodulation and to lower the noise floor. Strengthen to bridge greater distances and obstacles. More selective to suppress signals from other sources. Known interference signals for wireless microphone systems are WiFi and 4G networks in the immediate vicinity and the digital video signal DVB-T that is distributed over the air.

Communication

In addition, the RF-toolbox Splitter-8 takes care of the communication with the RF-toolbox booster and antenna and also supplies the power for this. The RF-toolbox booster is an antenna amplifier that can control the level of individual antennas within a system and, for example, can compensate for the cable lengths for each antenna separately. With the Splitter-8 RF toolbox, the level of the antenna signals can be closely monitored and optimally adjusted remotely. An RF-toolbox Splitter-8 can communicate with a maximum of 32 RF-toolbox boosters or antennas

The OLED window provides the following information and settings:

  • Booster power supply (antenna input): + 13V max. 1,200mA power supply for the RF-toolbox Preamp or LPDA antenna (LED indication for available voltage). Real-time indication of power consumption per input. Automatic reset (max. 10x) when overload. After troubleshooting and recovery, a manual reset can be made.
  • RF input: Both inputs are equipped with a bandpass filter with a bandwidth of 470 to 694MHz. Digitally and individually controllable attenuators from 0 to -31.5dB (in steps of 0.5dB). Signal measurement between -70 and + 10dBm, adjustable threshold for the automatic attenuators for reducing intermodulation products.
  • RF-output. Switchable power supply on the outputs for the Power supply of receivers 8x 13V-400mA, each output is equipped with a separate overcurrent protection.
